You searched, and nothing came back. It happens, especially on a route that few people drive, or a few days before you travel. An empty search today does not mean there will be no ride, though. Drivers publish rides every day, often only a day or two before they leave.
Here is what to do next.
1. Set a ride alert
This is the most useful step. When a search finds nothing, tap Create a ride alert. The moment a driver publishes a ride on that route, Tezzo tells you by notification and email, so you can book before the seats go.
Keep notifications switched on for Tezzo. If you turned them off once, the app shows a banner that takes you back to the setting.
2. Try the day before and the day after
Many drivers go on Friday evening or come back on Sunday. If your date is flexible, search a day either side. A Thursday night ride may suit you better than nothing on Friday.
3. Search from the nearest bigger town
Rides between big cities are more common than rides from small towns. Tezzo matches rides whose route passes near your starting point and near your destination, not only rides that start in your town, and the card shows how far the route passes from you. Searching from the bigger town nearby can show rides that pass close to you anyway.
4. Check the seats you asked for
If you set Seats needed to three, rides with one or two free seats are shown dimmed and cannot be booked. If your group can split across two cars, search for fewer seats.
5. Look again closer to the day
Plenty of drivers decide a day or two ahead. If your alert has not fired yet, check the morning before you travel; you may find a ride published the night before.
6. Get a driver onto your route
Every driver on Tezzo is somebody making the trip anyway. If you know people who drive your route, a colleague who goes home on weekends or a relative who visits often, send them Tezzo. Each seat they fill pays part of their fuel and tolls, and the next time you search, the ride is there.
If you drive yourself, publish your trip. Passengers searching the same route will see it, and the driver's guide explains how to set a fair seat price.
Meanwhile, plan a backup
A shared ride is one option among several. While your alert is on, keep an eye on the train or bus for the same day. Our comparison of carpool, bus, train and cab helps you decide which suits the trip.
When the ride appears
Book quickly; seats on popular days go fast. Then use the chat to agree on the pickup point, luggage and payment, which you make directly to the driver, in cash or by UPI, on the day. Never pay in advance.
Search your route now, and set the alert if it is empty.
